Viberbo University hosted its Servant Leadership Conference at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts on June 27-28, recognizing the importance of Servant Leadership with this year's event slogan, "Proven - Trusted - Effective." This conference has taken place annually for over twenty years and is aimed at inspiring leaders working in nonprofits, government, healthcare, education, and ministry to become positive forces within their local organizations.
Over 450 people from all over the Midwest attended, with several prominent local organizations in the area sponsoring the event—VARC included!
VARC's leadership team was thrilled to participate in the programming, furthering the conversation on solid leadership principles and effective practices. On Friday morning, our very own President | CEO Liz Filter led a women's panel called Servant Leadership: Leading Change, where she moderated the exchanges of Libby Weber (The Weber Group), Clara Gelatt (National Decorated Products), and Sarah Iverson (Good Shepherd Lutheran Church) on the Weber Center's Lyche Stage.
VARC firmly believes in Servant Leadership and regularly implements these concepts throughout the organization, finding that those principles cross over easily into the disability service provider industry. By supporting and empowering its own staff leaders to take part in Tom Thibodeau's trainings, VARC has seen the benefit of incorporating this mindset throughout its divisions, resulting in better broad-spectrum care for the clients whom VARC proudly serves.
